I’m grateful to the reviewers who mentioned that these shoes run large. I normally wear a 7, and Zappos insisted that the 7 would fit me, but I bought both the 7 and the 6.5., and the 7 was way too big. The 6.5 fits, with room for my arch support ortho-inserts; in fact, without them, the shoes have too much space, because they are very wide around the ankle area (despite being described as “narrow”).

The boot was way too large. Need to send it back. It’s nice looking shoe, but definitely order a smaller size.

I was looking for a low heel ankle boot with an interesting shape—something besides the usual round toe, and this looked like it would fit the bill. I ordered my usual size and thought it fit true to size but the square toe extended so far beyond my foot that it looked goofy.

Just like another reviewer here, I wear either a 6.5 or size 7. I ordered both which was the right thing to do. I tried the size 6.5 first. I wore them in my wardrobe closet on the rug for an hour while I put clothes away. Because I have a high arch, the right and larger foot kind of went numb on top of the arch. The left boot fit perfect. So I tried on the size 7, thinking I would go with them. I had them on and off several times over a period of a few days. They seemed a bit big all over , but especially in the ankle area. This defeats the whole style of the boot which is the slim fitting sock style shaft. So at the last minute before an event, I had to make a decision and I grabbed the smaller size, the 6.5. lo and behold I walked about a mile to an event and a mile back and realized the arch on the right foot had stretched out enough for a perfect fit. These boots are super easy to walk in with soft leather that is very comfortable. in my situation, they absolutely stretched out a little bit, just enough to accommodate my high arch on the right foot. I am completely happy with these boots and found it interesting that the smaller size with the correct one for me. You that have commented about the boot having too much area in the toe, you should know that this is intended as an elongated toe as part of its style and your own toes should be far short of the end of this boot. These are fashion forward and look great on. Highly recommend!

These boots were true to size for me. I needed removable insoles as I have high arches, and was misled by a comment about a buyer having used her orthotics in them to advantage. There was no information as to whether the insoles were removable; but I discovered via chat following my purchase that they are not.

LOVE LOVE LOVE! I have been looking for boots like this for so long, finally found a boot that is stylish, sleek, not bulky and looks good with a variety of pants and skirts/dresses! The leather is like butter and so comfortable. I am normally 8 1/2N but the 8 fit perfectly.

I should have listened to the other reviews. This shoe is ridiculously long in the toe. That is to be expected somewhat given the style, but this is excessive. I usually buy 6.5 in boots. I tried both 6 and 6.5 and both were too long, but also narrow. They were also very loose in the heel area and the shape of the heel itself made for an unstable shoe. The leather is nice and the style is beautiful, but they didn’t work for my feet.

Fussy old feet, low arches and hammer toes. 4th pair of short black ankle boots of varying price and brand tried, 3 returned, these are a keeper for me. I got my usual size in hopes a pair of arch support insoles and warm socks would fit in them and they do, very comfortably. Not comically large at ankle, plus the buttery soft leather means no chafing or rubbing until “broken in”, heel is just the right height. Fit very well – out of the box and out of the door comfortable – happy purchase! And great Zappos price and service as always.

I’m rating these a 5 even though I’m returning them. Gorgeous, soft leather. Comfortable. They look sharp but have the almost-flat heel, so would be comfortable for walking (which is why I purchased them). I am returning because my right heel lifts while I walk in them, which isn’t great. I think they are great, just not the right fit for my foot shape, apparently.
